Intoxicated Man Accused of Kidnapping Lincoln Child

By Tom Stanton Aug 19, 2025 | 1:55 PM

Lincoln Police responded to a child kidnapping report at Peach Park around 8:00 Monday night.  LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says as officers began to investigate, the 8-year-old boy was found a short time later at his home nearby with a relative.

“When officers arrived at the home, the suspect, 48-year-old Daniel Goe of Lincoln, was also there and appeared to be intoxicated,” Thomas says.  A DUI investigation was conducted after officers investigated the kidnapping.

“During the investigation, officers determined Goe had been at the park on foot, then pulled up to the park in his vehicle, approached the child to go get food, who then got in the passenger seat” Thomas says.

“A witness told police he told the boy to get out of the vehicle but Goe locked the vehicle and drove off.”  As they past the boy’s home, Thomas says the relative yelled at Goe, who stopped and both got out.

Officers learned Goe had been at the park daily for the last two to three months and spoke with the child whenever he was there but was not known by the child’s mother and did not have permission to be with him.  Goe was taken to the Lancaster County Jail and booked for criminal child enticement,  DUI  and transporting a child while intoxicated.
