The City of Lincoln invites community members to two public information meetings in August for Water 2.0, a project to develop a second water supply.
The schedule is as follows:
- Wednesday, August 13: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Sandhills Global Event Center (4100 North 84th St., Lincoln)
- Thursday, August 14: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Gibson Hall (101 West Eldora Ave., Weeping Water)
The same information will be presented at both meetings. A short presentation will begin at 6 p.m. Representatives from the City of Lincoln and the consultant project team will be available to share information and answer questions until 7:30 p.m. Community members may visit any time during the meeting.
In 2022, a 27-member advisory council evaluated numerous alternatives for Lincoln’s second source of water. The City of Lincoln approved a proposal for a wellfield near the Missouri River, and is now planning a new wellfield, water treatment plant and water transmission line.
