The Nebraska State Patrol is accepting applications for its next training class, set to begin Jan. 5, 2026, with graduation scheduled for June 18. Applications are open through Sept. 15 at NebraskaTroopers.com.

“This is the perfect time to join the NSP team,” said Colonel Bryan Waugh, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “You bring the drive, and our team will equip you with the skills and knowledge to begin a rewarding career as a trooper.”

Troopers earn a starting salary of $32.45 per hour upon graduation from the 24-week academy, with recruits paid $28.85 per hour during training. Benefits include retirement, health and life insurance, free college tuition for troopers and dependents, and opportunities for specialty assignments such as K9 handler, SWAT, crisis negotiator, and more.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 21 by graduation, and hold a high school diploma or GED.
