One of the largest infrastructure projects in Lincoln’s history is now complete.
Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) announced Thursday that West “A” Street is officially open between Southwest 40th Street and South Coddington Avenue. The nearly 2.5-mile West “A” Street Improvement Project brought significant upgrades from the west city limits to SW 5th Street, including:
- New pavement and roundabout intersections
- ADA-accessible sidewalks and a multi-use trail
- Sanitary sewer trunkline
- New street lighting and concrete bus stop pads
- Improved driveway connections
Final cleanup work is ongoing and includes seeding, temporary lighting replacement, mowing, and weed removal.
