The City of Lincoln will roll out the red carpet next year for the best young archers in the country. The 2026 WIAWIS USA Archery JOAD Target Nationals & JOAD U.S. Open will be held at the Lincoln Sports Foundation from July 23-26.
The site sits on more than 100 acres and is set up for indoor and outdoor events. Of those 100 acres, 60 are professionally maintained fields, which will welcome the top young barebow, compound, fixed pins and recurve archers in 2026.
“We’re really looking forward to it. I think people are excited to go there,” says USA Archery CEO, Rod Menzer. “It’s a college town and a winning town, so our athletes get a chance to
go and see what Husker hospitality is like. And this event keeps getting bigger and bigger.”
Derek Bombeck is Director of Sports with Visit Lincoln and says they are excited to be hosting both events. “It’s a great community right in the central part of the United States, with a lot to do. We have a great facility in the Lincoln Sports Foundation and we’re just excited to bring the event to Lincoln.”
The currents archery events are being held this week in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Menzer paid tribute to Albuquerque, which has hosted the event the past two years. “The word ‘phenomenal’ is not enough. The athletes have loved coming here, the parents really like being here.” But now, Menzer says they are setting their sights on Nebraska.
“Lincoln has quite the act to follow but they’re up for the task, I know they are, and I expect a really solid turnout and a heck of a great event.”
