Lincoln Police arrested a man Tuesday night after they say he kicked in the front door of a home near Hill Drive and Valley Road and asked where his daughter was. LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says they learned 42-year-old Steven Gray had been at the home an hour earlier collecting his belongings from the victim’s daughter and refusing to leave.
“He eventually left after other officers arrived and asked him to leave. The daughter had also left after the first incident,” Thomas says. The victim told police Gray tried to push his way into the home, using a towel to keep the door from closing, and then pulled out what he believed to be a firearm from under the towel.
Thomas says the victim told officers Gray then inserted a ‘clip’ into the ‘firearm’ and pointed it at him before he was able to run out of the house. “Officers found Gray and the firearm, which was later identified to be a lighter gun, about a block away from the scene.
He was arrested and taken to the Lancaster County Jail where he was booked for burglary, terroristic threats, tampering with physical evidence and use of a weapon to commit a felony. A syringe, which tested positive for methamphetamines, was found in Gray’s property and he was also charged with possession of a controlled substance
