A second Republican has announced his candidacy for the Nebraska District 2 US House seat.  Former state senator Brett Lindstrom announced Monday morning he will run for the seat being vacated by Don Bacon.  He joins Omaha City Council Vice President Brinker Harding as candidates in 2026.

Lindstrom represented northwest Omaha in the Nebraska Unicameral from 2015 to 2023.  “I’m running for Congress because I believe Nebraska needs a leader who will fight every day for our families, our values, and our future,” Lindstrom says.  “I will be a voice for working people, veterans, and small businesses, and for the next generation who deserve to inherit a stronger, safer America.”

Lindstrom’s campaign will focus on growing the economy and securing the border.
