The Nebraska State Patrol arrested a 21-year-old Lincoln Man following a pursuit that began in Sarpy County late Saturday night.  Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas says just before midnight  a trooper saw a Honda Accord speeding as it was traveling on Highway 370 near 132nd Street in Papillion.   The trooper also noticed the vehicle had expired license plates.

“The trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the driver of the Honda refused to yield and accelerated,” Thomas says. The trooper then initiated a pursuit.  “The driver fled westbound on Interstate 80 toward Lincoln with speeds above 100 miles per hour,” Thomas says.

“During the pursuit, additional troopers successfully deployed stop sticks to slow the vehicle.”  Thomas says as the vehicle approached the I-180 interchange in Lincoln, the vehicle slowed down and struck a road sign.

The driver was then taken into custody without further incident.  Thomas says Dillon Murphy was arrested for willful reckless driving, flight to avoid arrest, driving under suspension, and no valid registration.

He was booked into the Sarpy County Jail.
