Newly appointed Nebraska Volleyball Head Coach Dani Busboom Kelly will light the caldron during the Opening Night celebration of the 41st Cornhusker State Games on Thursday, July 10, outside Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The ceremony marks a full-circle moment for the Cortland native and former Husker standout, who once competed in the State Games as a young athlete. Now, she returns as only the fourth head coach in Nebraska volleyball history, succeeding her mentor John Cook.

Opening Night will kick off Nebraska’s largest amateur sports festival, which runs July 10–20 with events in communities statewide. This year’s Games will also be featured in ESPN’s “50 States in 50 Days” series.

The final deadline to register is July 2. For details, visit CornhuskerStateGames.com.
