Lincoln’s Animal Control Manager is urging dog owners to leave their pets at home during the extreme heat that will arrive this weekend. Triple digit temperatures combined with humidity will push the heat index to around 110 degrees.
Denise Bollwitt tells KLIN News says make sure you take precautions to keep your pets safe. “We prefer they stay at home in these temperatures. There’s no reason to take them, never leave them in your car,” Bollwitt says.
“Even if it’s 95 degrees within ten minutes it could hit 114 and that is very detrimental to a pets health.” You can hear more tips from Bollwitt below.
