No one was hurt when fire broke out inside a home near 40th and Randolph around 11:20 Tuesday morning. LFR Public Information Manager MJ Lierman says the residents reported smoke an flames coming from a bedroom and got out of the house.
“When crews arrived, there was no smoke showing, they had done a good job of shutting the door,” Lierman says. Crews then popped the door open and found the fire inside a child’s bedroom closet. they were able to put the fire out quickly, but the home was filled with smoke.
She says three adults and two children were able to get out safely along with two dogs and three cats. They will all have to be relocated and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
