Lincoln Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects in two separate cases. One involves a front porch larceny from a South Lincoln home, the other involves an assault with a shopping cart at a local grocery store.
The first case occurred on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in a a residential area near S. 27th and Pine Lake Road.
LPD Video Forensics Technician Becky Keller says a suspect was captured on home security video arriving in a gray Chrysler 300, walking up to a porch with his face covered by an orange cloth, and taking multiple packages from the porch.
Investigators are unsure if the suspect captured on video was the driver of the vehicle or a passenger. The suspect is described as a white male in a red Husker hat, black hoodie, and lighter colored shorts.
Keller says the porch pirate made off with 3 books, a dog hair remover, and a package of women’s underwear.
Video and photos are available below.
The second case occurred around 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Russ’s Market on 17th and Washington Street.
Keller says the victim in this case said he was at the store when another man wearing a hat was staring excessively at him. He admitted to confronting the individual, exchanging some words, and said the man in the hat pushed his cart towards him so he pushed it back.
The victim said the male in the hat then grabbed the cart, picked it up off the ground, and threw it at him. The assailant missed and there were no major injuries other than a sore hand.
