Lincoln Police say a man is in custody after firing a shot during an altercation outside a business south of 27th and Cornhusker Highway early Sunday morning. LPD says someone who wished to remain anonymous flagged down officers in the Northwest Team Station parking lot around 4:00 a.m. to report a fight with guns.
When officers arrived, they heard a gunshot and saw several people scattering. LPD says one person was seen running from the area where the shot was fired and in the opposite direction of those fleeing the scene.
30-year-old Anthony Andersen was found a short distance away and detained by officers. Police say officers retraced his path of travel and a stolen gun was found. They determined it was Andersen who was in possession of the gun.
The Springfield 9mm was stolen in Lincoln in September 2023. Andersen is a convicted felon and was booked for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of a stolen firearm.
