Angie Eberspacher, a longtime educator and current Educational Service Unit 6 board member, announced Tuesday she is running for the Nebraska State Board of Education to represent District 5.
Eberspacher, who resides in Beaver Crossing, said her campaign will focus on improving literacy and proficiency scores, supporting teachers, and strengthening core academics.
“I’m running to support Nebraska’s students, teachers, and parents, and to work toward a stronger education system for everyone,” Eberspacher said in a statement.
District 5 covers a wide area of southeastern Nebraska, including much of rural Lancaster County and 17 other counties. Eberspacher previously chaired the ESU 6 board and emphasized her commitment to fiscal responsibility and student advocacy.
She is seeking to succeed current board member Kirk Penner, who is not seeking re-election and has endorsed Eberspacher as his preferred successor.
The nonpartisan race will appear on the May 12, 2026, primary ballot, with the general election scheduled for Nov. 3.
