Lincoln’s household hazardous waste collection site—HazToGo—will have extended open hours this summer.

The site, located at 5101 N. 48th Street, will be open Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through the end of August and open the third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Operated by the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department, HazToGo is a free, drive-through disposal service for hazardous household items. Accepted materials include pesticides, solvents, old gasoline, oil-based paints, cleaning products, and items containing mercury. Vape products are now also accepted.

In 2023–2024, HazToGo diverted over 144,500 pounds of hazardous waste from the Bluff Road Landfill. More than 3,500 households and small businesses use the service each year.
