Lincoln Police have released results of a traffic enforcement project that focused on dangerous driving in school zones. From May 1-15 LPD officers worked overtime hours patrolling during active school zone times.
LPD says a total of 141 traffic stops were made and 168 citations issued. Officers wrote 107 speeding tickets and cited 13 people for not wearing seat belts. There were 22 no registration citations issued along with six for no insurance.
LPD says these results don’t include citations written during officers’ normal shifts. The project was made possible by a grant from the the Nebraska Department of Transportation-Highway Safety Office.
