Open House for Proposed Central Library Project Set For June 4

By Tom Stanton May 30, 2025 | 6:00 AM

Lincoln residents are invited to an open house regarding the proposed Central Library Project on Wednesday, June 4th at Bennett Martin Public Library near 14th and ‘N’ Street.   The event will run from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. and will provide information about the proposal to repurpose the former Southeast Community College Education Square building at 11th and “O” Street into a modern, centrally located public library.

City officials, library staff and project architects will be on hand to answer questions and share information about the proposed features, funding and project timeline. Tours of the Bennett Martin Public Library will also be offered during the open house.

Two more public information sessions are scheduled for this summer.  The first will be held at the Walt Branch Library on 14th Street in southwest Lincoln.  That will be followed by a July 7th event at SCC Education Square at 11th and ‘O’ Street.

Both sessions will run from 6:30-7:45 p.m.  For more information on the proposed Central Library Project click here.
