Lincoln Teenager Assaulted, Robbed Walking Home From Bus Stop

By Tom Stanton May 30, 2025 | 11:15 AM

A frightening ordeal for a Lincoln teenager Thursday night.  LPD Public Information manager Erika Thomas says officers were sent to 5th and Adams around 8:45 p.m. to investigate a robbery and assault.

“Officers were told a 16-year-old female victim had been assaulted and her headphones stolen while walking home from the bus stop,” Thomas says.  The victim said someone yelled at her and then two males, believed to be middle school aged or younger, and a female wearing a black face mask assaulted her, pulling her hair and forcing her to the ground.”

Thomas says the suspects tried to take the girl’s shoes but she kicked and fought them off.  “They then took her headphones off her head and ran away.”  The female suspect attempted to take the
victim’s phone but then slammed it onto the ground.

The victim sustained swelling under her right eye and a bloody lip. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600, report online at lincolncrimestoppers.com or download the free P3 app.
