Door Dash Driver Arrested for Drunk Driving

By Tom Stanton May 30, 2025 | 3:53 PM

The Nebraska State Patrol says they arrested a food service delivery driver in Lincoln Wednesday night for drunk driving. Patrol spokesperson Mikayla Hall tells KLIN News it happened Wednesday night near 9th and ‘N’ Streets.

Hall says the 37-year-old door dash driver was making a delivery when the trooper saw him make a turn into the wrong lane and then failed to signal another turn.  When the trooper spoke to the driver there was evidence that he had been drinking.

Hall says the driver’s blood alcohol content was .216, more than twice the legal limit.  The driver was taken off the street and arrested for DUI.  “Unfortunately, the person who was having their food delivered canceled the order, otherwise I’m sure our trooper would have been more than happy to bring them their order.”

The driver was cited for improper turn, fail to use signal, possess open container of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol.  The picture provided by the patrol shows empty beer bottles inside the vehicle.
