Lincoln Parks and Recreation has delayed the opening of city pools to Tuesday, May 27 due to forecasted cold weather.
Pools were originally set to open on Memorial Day, May 26. According to city policy, pools require a forecasted high of at least 70 degrees to open. If temperatures remain below that threshold on May 27, the opening will be pushed to Wednesday, May 28.
“Our staff is ready, and we’ll open as soon as it’s safe and comfortable for swimmers,” said Parks and Recreation Director Maggie Stuckey-Ross.
Nine pools across the city will operate daily from 1 to 6 p.m. once open. Family Swim Nights will begin June 2, and the Trago Sprayground is already open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
