A dispute between neighbors over a child riding a minibike near 29th and Pear Streets Friday night resulted in a man and woman going to jail. Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says officers were called three times to the neighborhood regarding the arguments.
She says when officers arrived the third time the neighbor told police 63-year-old Troy Longbine was on his porch cleaning a firearm that looked like a rifle and then pointed it at three
children and verbally threatened them for riding on the street.
“The witness then told officers Longbine put two rifles inside his vehicle in the driveway.” Thomas says officers contacted Longbine and his roommate, 47-year-old Amy Longbine of Lincoln, and ordered them to exit the house.
“Troy complied and was taken into custody. Amy refused to comply and began walking toward the vehicle with the weapons inside,” Thomas says. “She resisted being taken into custody but was ultimately arrested.”
The guns involved were determined to be pellet air rifles. Troy Longbine was taken to the Lancaster County Jail and booked for terroristic threats. Amy Longbine was arrested for obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest.
