Nebraska pitcher Jordy Bahl made Husker history Monday when she earned her sixth conference player or pitcher of the week honor this season. No Husker has ever earned a weekly honor from the conference more. Bahl was named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week for the fifth time this season, to go with her single Player of the Week recognition. Bahl’s five conference pitcher of the week honors also tied a conference record.
In two wins against Maryland last week, Bahl didn’t allow an earned run and surrendered just one hit in 11 innings pitched. Bahl has allowed no earned runs and two hits in her last three games and 18 innings pitched, all wins.
Bahl and the Huskers earned a first-round bye in the Big Ten tournament and are the No. 3 seed in the bracket. Nebraska will face the winner of Penn State and Iowa Thursday at 10 a.m. at West Lafayette, Ind.
