Two men were arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop in Waverly on Saturday afternoon. Lancaster County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says a deputy stopped a van for a broken tail light.
Houchin says after making contact with the driver and two passengers, the deputy smelled an odor of marijuana. “A probably cause search was conducted and deputies at that time found small amounts of marijuana, methamphetamines and paraphernalia.”
Houchin the driver, Moises Fajardo, and passenger Todd Repkee were taken to jail. During a search of Repkee, Houchin says they found more than an ounce of powdered cocaine in his pants. “Probably one of the bigger drug cases that we had in Waverly. We don’t see a whole lot of powered cocaine, it’s mainly meth.”
Houchin praised the deputy who made the traffic stop. “This is a newer deputy who just got out on the road by himself and I am very proud of the stop he made.” Houchin says the deputy is assigned Waverly and it’s good they are out there in the that town and a good feather in his hat.”
A third man in the van was arrested on a warrant.
