Bahl does it all in series-clinching win over Washington

Jordy Bahl pitched a complete-game, one-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts and homered twice to lead No. 18 Nebraska softball to a 6-0 win over Washington Sunday in Seattle.

The Cornhuskers got on the board in the fourth. Lauren Camenzind drove in a run when she reached on an error. A second run scored on the play Then, later in the inning, with two on and one out, Bahl clubbed a three-run home run to push the NU lead to five. Bahl added to the lead in the sixth with a solo home run, her 17th of the year.

Bahl made sure those runs held up in the circle. The only hit she allowed came in the fourth, a single to Alycia Flores. The Huskies never had more than one runner on base with fewer than two outs, and Bahl struck out seven in the final three innings of the game.

Nebraska maintains an inside track on a top-four conference finish and, with it, a first-round bye in the Big Ten Tournament with one week to go in the regular season. The Huskers are in a three-way tie for third place in the league with Ohio State and Northwestern.

Nebraska opens its final series of the regular season Friday at Bowlin Stadium against Maryland. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.
