Huskies clobber Huskers to even series

By Nate Rohr Apr 26, 2025 | 7:41 PM

Washington scored six runs in the bottom of the first and rolled to a 10-2 win over No. 18 Nebraska Saturday in Seattle. The three-game series between NCAA hopefuls is now even heading into the series finale Sunday.

Kylee Magee (6-4) faced five batters and retired none of them, allowing three walks, a hit by pitch and a single, allowing two runs while leaving the bases loaded. Emmerson Cope came on in relief and allowed all three inherited runners to score plus one she allowed to reach as the Huskies built a 6-0 lead in the first inning. The teams traded runs in the second, and Washington posted three runs in the third to lead 10-1. Hannah Camenzind homered in the top of the fifth to cut the lead to eight, but Nebraska wasn’t able to chip in further and the Huskies were able to finish off the mercy-rule win.

Morgan Reimer (14-6) earned the win in the circle, allowing one earned run in 3.1 innings, allowing two walks with three strikeouts. Alexis DeBoer and Charity Sevaaetasi were both 2-for-3 with two RBI. Sevaaetasi doubled while DeBoer homered.

Game three of the series is Sunday in Seattle, with first pitch slated for 3 p.m.
