Lincoln Police were called to Heartland Optical near 27th and Apple Street around 12:30 Wednesday afternoon for a man who stole several pairs of expensive sunglasses. LPD public information Manager Erika Thomas says the man initially tried to purchase 12 pairs of Ray-Bans but after hearing the price he said he wasn’t interested.
“The man left with five pairs of sunglasses valued at $1,500,” Thomas says. As he ran out of the store, Thomas says the man pushed an employee into a door, which caused minor injuries to his arm.
The investigation is continuing and anyone who has any information is asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
