Residents of Lincoln and Lancaster County have the chance to dispense of unwanted household chemicals and materials during two drive-through hazardous waste collection events in this weekend.
The first event will be held in Waverly at the First United Methodist Church (14410 Folkestone St.) on Friday, May 2, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. The second event will be held in Lincoln at Star City Shores (4375 S 33rd Ct.) on Saturday, May 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
This service is coordinated through the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department’s ‘HazToGo’ program — a drive-through household hazardous waste collection site available to local residents year-round at no cost.
The facility accepts items like pesticides, lawn and garden chemicals, household cleaning products, turpentine, oil-based paint, pool cleaning chemicals, flea and tick powders, rodent poison, charcoal starter fluids vape products and items containing mercury.
