Nebraska baseball evened its season series with Creighton with a 6-3 win Tuesday at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha.

The Bluejays led 3-2 going to the top of the fifth, when the Cornhuskers scored the tying run on an error. Then in the sixth, Cayden Brumbaugh gave Nebraska the lead with an RBI single, then later scored in the inning on a sacrifice fly by Dylan Carey. The Huskers tacked on an insurance run in the eighth when Robbie Bolin hit an RBI double to right field, scoring Carey.

The Nebraska bullpen was solid throughout, allowing just one earned run through eight innings pitched. Pryce Bender (2-0) earned the win, throwing 2.2 innings while surrendering one earned run. Luke Broderick grabbed his eighth save, shutting out Creighton over the final two innings while allowing two hits and striking out three.

Carey led the Huskers offense, hitting 3-for-3 with two RBI and two doubles. Joshua Overbeek also had two hits and an RBI.

Nebraska now prepares for a three-game Big Ten series against Northwestern, starting Friday at Hawks Field at 6 p.m. Pregame coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. on KLIN.
