Violin Legend Itzhak Perlman Performing at Lied Center on Saturday

By Tom Stanton Apr 15, 2025 | 9:59 AM

A living legend will take the stage at the Lied Center for Performing Arts this weekend.  Itzhak Perlman is a 16-time Grammy Award winner and the reigning virtuoso violinist.  Perlman will perform Saturday night at 7:30, but Lied Center executive director Bill Stephan says the show will be different than his previous recitals.

“In addition to performing, he’ll also be sharing some clips from the documentary about him and tell stories about his life.” Stephan says some of the stories will feature his humor.  “He’s a very funny man. You don’t expect to go see a classical music concert and think, oh that was really funny, but he’ll tell  some funny stories.”

Having performed with every major orchestra and at concert halls around the globe, Perlman was granted a Presidential Medal of Freedom – the Nation’s highest civilian honor – by President Obama in 2015, a National Medal of Arts by President Clinton in 2000, and a Medal of Liberty by President Reagan in 1986.

Perlman has performed in Lincoln many times before. “Itzhak’s one of our favorite artists and we’re so honored to have him back,” Stephan says.  For tickets to the show click here.
