Jadyn Olesen, a 24-year-old from Lincoln performing under the name Jadyn Cree, is moving on to the playoff rounds of The Voice after winning her knockout battle on Monday night’s episode.

Coach Michael Bublé praised Olesen’s performance of Avril Lavigne’s “Keep Holding On,” calling her a standout among contestants.

“Out of both seasons that I’ve been here, I think she may have more star quality than anyone I’ve seen before,” Bublé said. “I think she’s going to win this thing.”

Olesen, who chose the song to reflect her journey as an artist in Nebraska, edged out 19-year-old Kameron Jaso of Wichita, Kansas, to advance.

With the win, she joins five other singers on Team Bublé heading into the playoffs, which begin airing April 28 and May 6. Live shows start May 12.

Olesen is only the third Lincoln singer to make it past the knockout rounds in the show’s history.
