A house fire in Crete Wednesday evening killed three people, including a 5-year-old boy and two adults in their 70s.
KLIN Media partner 10/11 Now reports The fire broke out around 5:30 p.m. near 16th Street and Oak Avenue. Firefighters rescued two people from the burning home; one woman escaped on her own. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and two later died despite life-saving efforts.
Officials say the fire may have started from a propane grill on a partially enclosed porch. The Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
