Lincoln Police were called to the area of 12th and ‘E’ Streets around 9:30 Wednesday night to investigate an assault. LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says when officers arrived found two men lying in the street bleeding.
“A witness showed officers a video of a 46-year-old Lincoln man and a 39-year-old Lincoln man swinging at each other in the street.” Thomas says one of the punches caused the 39- year-old to fall onto the pavement.
“Then a man and a woman ran over to the 46-year-old and punched and kicked him,” Thomas says. The two combatants were both taken to the hospital for treatment of head and facial injuries. Police are still searching for the man and woman who jumped into the fight.
Thomas says charges are pending.
