Lincoln Police Searching for Gas Station Assailant, Grocery Store Robber

By Chase Porter Apr 9, 2025 | 6:00 AM

Lincoln Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects in two separate cases. One involves an early morning assault in a gas station parking lot, and the other involves a robbery at a grocery store.

The first case occurred around 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the U-Stop gas station near S. 27th and “E” Street.

Video Forensics Technician for the Lincoln Police Department Becky Keller says the victim in this case said she was at the gas station trying to get the speakers on her car to work. She says when they kicked back on max volume, a man nearby seemed visibly upset by this.

She said she confronted him about what was wrong, and he came up to her and hit her in the face with his phone. She said he came back and acted like he was going to assault her again, but took off on a bike and told her to call the cops.

Investigators says the suspect was wearing a green hoodie and had a black and white backpack. Photo are available below.

The second case occurred around 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2025, at the Russ’s Market on 66th and “O” Street.

Keller says an employee observed a man exiting the store with a handful of groceries in no bag. She asked him if he had a receipt and he ignored her. She asked him again if he had a receipt once he exited the door, at which time he dropped all the groceries and charged at her, knocking her to the ground.

The suspect picked up the grocery items and ran off with them. Keller says, due to putting his hands on the employee and assaulting her, this case has escalated from a simple shoplift to a felony robbery charge.

Keller says the suspect was wearing a dark colored hoodie that said “Can’t Stop The Crooks” from a clothing brand called Crooks and Castles. Photo and video from the incident, as well as example photo’s of his clothing, are available below.
