Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews battled a house fire near 61st Street and Rosebud Circle in south Lincoln Friday night. LFR says no one was home at the time , but several pets were inside. One dog and a cat died in the fire and another cat survived.
Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says an electrical stove top was accidently turned on and ignited some items nearby.
She says there was $750,000 in damage to the house, mostly from smoke and heat. There was also about $150,000 in damage to contents inside the house.
