A man was arrested Friday after allegedly threatening another individual with a baseball bat in an incident that occurred the previous day, according the Lincoln Police Department.
On Thursday, March 27, around 8:35 a.m., officers responded to an assault report in the 700 block of ‘C’ Street. The victim told police that an unknown male confronted him in the street, then retrieved a baseball bat and ran toward him. Fearing for his safety, the victim used pepper spray on the suspect and called 911. The suspect then retreated to his vehicle and fled the scene at a high rate of speed.
Through their investigation, officers identified Marquel Callahan, 33, as the suspect. On Friday, March 28, members of the Metro Fugitive Task Force and Lincoln Police Department located Callahan near 44th and Huntington, taking him into custody without incident.
Callahan was booked into the Lancaster County Jail for terroristic threats, use of a weapon to commit a felony, and operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest.
