The Lincoln Police SRO for Lincoln High School was alerted by staff to a fight outside of the school about 3:15 Thursday afternoon between a student from Lincoln High and three teens who do
not attend the school.

During the altercation, the non-students attempted to steal the student’s backpack. A staff member from the school was able to wrestle the backpack away from the group while a witness indicated one of the teens was observed with a handgun.

The SRO arrived and observed the three teenagers fleeing, gave chase and a lengthy foot pursuit ensued. All three were caught by the SRO and responding officers in the 1800 block of G Street.

Officers located the handgun which had been discarded by one of the teens during the foot chase.  It was a replica BB gun with the appearance of a real functioning firearm.

The three teens (16, 16 and 15) were taken to the Lancaster County Youth Services Center and lodged for Attempted Robbery (2A Felony). The victim sustained minor injuries.
