Attempted Child Abduction in Lincoln

Shortly before 3:45 Thursday afternoon Lincoln Police responded to an attempted child abduction on Washington Street between S. 35th and S. 37th streets.

LPD Lieutenant Michelle Jochum tells KLIN News A 12-year-old girl said she was walking along the sidewalk in the area when a four-door white sedan with a male driver approached her. The man rolled down the window of the vehicle and attempted to get her into his vehicle.

The 12-year-old was not familiar with the driver, ran away and found a trusted adult to report the incident. The vehicle was last seen driving north on S. 37th Street from Washington Street.

The vehicle is described as possibly having the driver’s side front fender missing with rust around the wheel wells. Anyone with information or possible video of this incident is encouraged to call the LPD non-emergency number 402-441-6000 with details.
