A one-hitter from Papillion native Jordy Bahl and five RBI from Olivia DiNardo propelled No. 20 Nebraska softball to a 5-0 win over Omaha Wednesday night at Connie Claussen Field in Omaha.

In her first-ever game in Omaha, Bahl held the Mavs to just one hit, retiring the last 17 hitters she faced as she piled up a season-high 13 strikeouts.

The Huskers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning. With the bases loaded and one out, Olivia DiNardo lofted a drive over the fence in left field for a grand slam. DiNardo was responsible for the Huskers’ fifth run in the fifth inning. With two outs and Ava Bredwell at first, DiNardo lined a double to score Bredwell and push the lead to five.

Maddia Groff took the loss for the Mavericks, allowing five earned runs in five innings.

The Huskers have won 11 of their last 13 games, including four in a row. Nebraska will take on Purdue in a three-game conference series starting Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bowlin Stadium in Lincoln.
