LPD Responds to Attempted Burglary at Joann Fabric Monday Night

Shortly after 11:00 p.m. Monday night, Lincoln Police responded to an alarm covering a roof hatch at Joann Fabric and Craft near 66th and O Street.

“Officers found a man climbing off the roof of the business,” LPD Lt. Jason Goodwin told KLIN News. “An officer told him to stop but he fled on an electric bicycle. Officers caught the man about four block from the business where he was arrested.”

Goodwin added that the man was carrying a firearm and narcotics.

44-year old Gary Johnson Jr. was taken to the Lancaster County Jail for numerous charges including possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a controlled substance, Attempted Burglary, and obstructing a peace officer.
