Lincoln Police have arrested a nursing home employee in connection to a sexual assault case Saturday afternoon. LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says officers were called to the Emerald Nursing Home near 10th and South Street around 12:30 p.m.
“An employee reported finding the janitor, 63-year-old Derald Wiltshire of Lincoln, in the room of a 78-year-old female dementia patient in a state of partial undress with the door closed,” Thomas says.
She says the employee says Wiltshire was grabbing the victim’s breast. “Officers interviewed those involved and ultimately arrested Wiltshire and took him to the Lancaster County Jail,” Thomas says.
Wiltshire was arrested for abuse of a vulnerable adult and 3rd degree sexual assault.
