Nebraska junior pitcher Jordy Bahl earned Big Ten Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Bahl threw 8.1 shutout innings as the Huskers swept Minnesota in a three-game series at Bowlin Stadium.
Bahl pitched a one-hit shutout to open the series Friday. She allowed just one hit, an infield single that stopped rolling just a few feet in front of the plate. She had seven strikeouts in Nebraska’s 8-0, mercy-rule-shortened win. Then on Saturday, Bahl clinched the series, pitching 2.1 innings of shutout relief to nail down NU’s 8-3 win.
The honor is Bahl’s second Big Ten Pitcher of the Week award of her career. No. 21 Nebraska is next in action Wednesday at Omaha. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.
