The Lincoln-Lancaster County Election Commission mailed about 20,000 early vote-by-mail ballots Monday for the city’s April 8 primary election. The general election is set for May 6.

Commissioner Todd Wiltgen says every voter who requested an early vote ballot through last Friday should receive their ballots by the end of this week. Voters may check the status of their early vote ballot on the Nebraska Secretary of State’s Voter View website at: votercheck.necvr.ne.gov.

Early vote ballots must be returned to the Election Commission in the self-addressed envelope enclosed with their ballot by mail or by dropping them off in one of the secure drop boxes listed below:

By law, early vote ballot envelopes must be signed and received by the Election Commission by 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 8th.
