Lincoln Police will be out in force this weekend. LPD will be conducting a specialized enforcement project Saturday and Sunday that will be focused on impaired drivers. “The initiative is part of LPD’s ongoing commitment to roadway safety and reducing impaired driving incidents over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend, says Public Information Officer Erika Thomas.
The increased enforcement is made possible through a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation-Highway Safety Office.
“LPD urges all drivers to never drive under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Plan ahead by designating a sober driver, using a rideshare service, or calling a taxi,” Thomas says.
