Lincoln Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects in two separate cases. One involves a hit-and-run suspect in a central Lincoln parking lot, the other involving a serial wallet/purse snatcher of elderly women.
The first case occurred around 10:30 p.m. on March 3, 2025, in the parking lot of the Petro Mart on N. 23rd and “R” Street.
Video Forensics Technician for the Lincoln Police Department Becky Keller says a female driver struck the drivers side of another parked vehicle while backing in and out. Instead of stopping and taking care of the situation, the driver chose to drive off.
Police believe the vehicle she was driving is a 2009-2015 Hyundai Sonata with possible light damage to the rear passenger side now. The woman is described as a white female between 30-40 years of age, with long darker hair, accompanied by a tall, bald, black male.
Photo and video of the incident are available below.
The second case occurred on February 28, 2025, at the Super Saver on near S. 56th Street and Nebraska Parkway.
Minary says an individual entered the store and took a customer’s wallet out of her purse while she was not looking. Investigators believe the suspect is connected to seven other possibly related cases in the Lincoln area, all with similar behavior, dating back to July of 2024. For this reason, the suspect is wearing different clothing in the photos shared by Crime Stoppers.
Police identified the common theme of wallets/purses being stolen from elderly women in grocery stores, then their credit cards being used fraudulently to rack up large dollar amounts for gift cards, commonly at the Lululemon store.
In total, investigators estimate the total loss value is over $6,100 and continues to climb.
Photos of the suspect are available below.
