A North Carolina man was arrested Friday after LSO deputies found weapons and more than one thousand pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on I-80 near 56th Street. Chief Deputy Ben Houchin tells KLIN news they stopped the driver of the U-Haul for swerving in and out of his lane.
During the traffic stop, Houchin says they asked the driver to get out of the vehicle. “As he was getting out of the vehicle, a pat search was completed and they ended up finding three knives on him and a loaded revolver.”
They then searched the U-Haul and Houchin says the found a stolen rifle and three pistols near the drivers seat. In the cargo area of the truck deputies found the marijuana along with three pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, 133 pounds of various THC concentrate and 3,600 mg of THC gummies.
More than and $1,100 in cash was also seized. 41-year-old John Silsby was arrested for delivery and distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm while committing a felony and possession of money while violating drug laws.
He went before a Lancaster County judge on Monday and is being held in the Lancaster County Jail on $80,000 bond.
