LSO Confirms Remains Found In SW Lincoln Are Tyler Goodrich

By Tom Stanton Mar 10, 2025 | 11:14 AM

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says the body discovered by a man walking his dog Saturday morning are the remains of Tyler Goodrich, who was reported missing in November 2023.  Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said Monday morning that the remains were found in a wooded area less than 1,000 yards from Goodrich’s home.

Houchin says that area was searched by volunteers immediately after Goodrich’s disappearance and he believes the body has been at that same location for over a year.  Houchin says the area was heavily wooded, which made it difficult for volunteers to find the body.

LSO says the death was not a homicide.  The cause of death is still unclear and an autopsy was performed Monday morning.  Lonnie Goodrich is Tyler’s father and tells 1011 Now he is glad they finally have some closure.

“For sixteen and a half months I’ve prayed every night. I stood at my door, asking him to come up the driveway. I prayed that we would get information and, at least today, we got that one piece.”
