Lincoln Police have released results of a traffic safety and enforcement project that was conducted in February. Officers worked overtime hours due to a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation-Highway Safety Office.

LPD says 65 traffic stops were made and 74 citations issued.  30 of those citations were for speeding.  Police also handed out 23 no registration citations and four for no seat belts.  Police also announced on Monday it will conduct another traffic safety enforcement project now through March 26.

“Officers who have advanced training in traffic enforcement will work throughout Lincoln to monitor areas with high instances of reported and observed traffic offenses,” says LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas.

The project is also a result of a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation-Highway Safety Office to allow officers to work overtime.
