Lincoln Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects in two separate cases. One involving an Valentine’s Day identity fraudster, the other involving a drive by shooting in Northwest Lincoln.
The first case occurre on February 14, 2025, at the Pinnacle Bank branch inside of the Hy-Vee near 50th and “O” Street.
Video Forensics Technician for the Lincoln Police Department Becky Keller says a man approached the teller with a fake ID of the account holder’s name, provided the victim’s social security number and other personal information, and was able to successfully withdraw a large amount of cash.
When asked for the account PIN, the male became upset and claimed to have Alzheimer’s stating he couldn’t remember the PIN.
The male then left in a newer model Jeep. The victims recalled they were missing some billing statements from their mailbox recently but that was the only thing that was out of the ordinary.
Photos of the suspect are available below.
The second case occurred on Sunday, February 2, 2025, in the area of North 2nd and Belmont Avenue.
Keller says the victim in this case reported finding bullet holes in two of their vehicles parked outside of their residence in the area.
At 5:40 a.m. that morning, cameras captured a white hatchback car and a darker SUV driving eastbound past the residence as six gunshots were heard.
The vehicles sped out of the neighborhood and turned north onto Garber Ave. LPD says it’s unknown which vehicle the shots came out of.
