Lincoln Residents are invited to attend the University Place Subarea Plan open house Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Gathering Grove on N. 48th Street. Organizers say this will be an opportunity to take a comprehensive look at the University Place Neighborhood.
The plan presents a strategic vision for the neighborhood and provides a framework for achieving that vision. It addresses a variety of topics including land use, housing, transportation, economic development, appearance and other neighborhood enhancements.
The open house will include stations with City staff available to discuss content and recommendations. Refreshments will be provided. Parking is available on St. Paul Avenue and in the public parking lot at North 47th Street and St. Paul Avenue. There will be no formal presentation.
When completed, the University Place Subarea Plan will be adopted as part of the Lincoln-Lancaster County Comprehensive Plan. Examples of other subarea plans in Lincoln include the Downtown Master Plan, North 33rd and Cornhusker Subarea Plan and the South Haymarket Neighborhood Plan.
