A flight from Omaha avoided a tragedy Tuesday morning while trying to land at Chicago Midway International Airport.
CNN reports Southwest Flight 2504 took off from Omaha at 7:30 a.m. and was scheduled to land at 9:10 a.m..
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) says the private jet entered the runway without authorization. The planes came as close as approximately 2,050 feet before the Southwest plane changed course and narrowly missed the jet, according to FlightRadar24.
